Wow, I can't even believe it has been almost a year since I last wrote on my blog. Shame on me for neglecting this part of my business. I never could keep up with my own personal diaries growing up either so what can I say? Life gets busy and we fall behind....
I wanted to stop and reflect on my life and business and pour some of my thoughts into my blog. Not your usual business announcements, etc, because if I want to be successful in what I do. I want people to know my true character, my personality and my thoughts..
It's already 2012! This year is off to a great start for me. My youngest Savannah, just recently turned 4 years old! I can't even believe it. Seems like just when I started selling hairbows before boutique clothing back in the day, she was just a little baby... This is a reminder that the years are going fast and my children are all growing up before my eyes. It's kind of sad but I am enjoying every minute of my days just watching all my kids grow.
I have set new goals this year for my business and I have decided to aim higher than ever before! Plans to expand in all areas of my business. My designs, my selection of creations, my relationships with customers, business supporters and partners, and most of all, social and business networking! With it of course, I have to make choices and set plans to make it work. Having 4 kids all different ages, time is precious, something we do not have a lot of. I have one in high school, one in middle school and one in Elementary. Savannah Banana is of course still at home with me but I would not have it any other way right now....
In the past and even every now and then, I find myself exhausted, a little overwhelmed of the demands that is brought upon us when owning a business and running that one man show on your own. Trying to keep a household together and keep a business running smoothly is not easy. Some people do not see this part of your life and you are forced to deal with it on your own..... I am slowly learning to balance family life, school and extracurricular activities, business and friendships. With that, I make sure I find time for God as well. I have to give thanks to the Almighty for all the things, the people and the moments I have in life.... I value all these important things and I will tell you for the past year, my family has been through quite a bit of downfall. But even when things seemed like there was no uphill from where we were going. I kept my faith and stayed positive through all the hard times. My friends and family were there to listen and help cheer me up on my worst days. Maybe to some, right now, I am blabbering! But I am a very honest person. I am deep! I dream and I want those dreams to come true. My heart takes me to places where some may never find themselves. My goals are a bit of a climb, but I am driven and motivated. I am all strapped in and ready to head on up. I have a new attitude in place and I am going to give it my all... I'm passionate about what I do and I am proud of what I have made for myself so far. But I know that it doesn't stop there. There is so much more left to do! Last but not least, and I offer this advice to everyone, not just other business owners but people of all ages, friends and families, always make time to laugh, smile, and love alot! :-) Being positive is very powerful! With it, you can overcome any obstacle......
One suggestion: Make yourself some important boards. An Inspiration board, a Goals and Dreams board and Who I Am Board... An inspiration board is where you will pin all the things that inspire you, ideas of your own and ideas you have found around you... A Goals and Dreams Board is just that! Where you will pin your dreams and goals in life. Places where you want to go, vacations you absolutely want to take, the goals you want to achieve, what you find would satisfy you, and the dreams you want to fulfill. A Who I am Board is where you pin your likes, what you are as a person, anything that makes you you. You can visit your boards every day to help remind you of who you are, what you want in life and what you have to work for... Some things may seem impossible, and even scare you. But those are the goals that are worth every bit of hard work to follow!
I want to post on here two of my favorite quotes that I have always tried to live by and when I forget, I always go back to it to remind me of what's important... This is what keeps me going!

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them."
~ Bruce Lee
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
~Mark Twain~
